frequently asked questions
What birthed Whisper’s Cabaret?
I created Whisper’s Cabaret after trying my hand at producing a few shows and enjoying the ability to curate a show that was based around something that I have a passion for: dancing and pole.
What’s the vibe usually like?
The vibes at Whisper’s Cabaret are always positive and upbeat. Everyone from our performers, to venue staff, to guests are friendly and welcoming.
Is there nudity at your shows?
No, there’s no explicit nudity during Whisper’s Cabaret. Performers may wear pasties and transparent clothing, but no full nudity.
Do you hold auditions for performers for your show?
Yes. I do sometimes hold auditions for guest performers for upcoming cabaret shows. You can usually find out about when auditions are happening by following one or both of the following Instagram accounts: @itsjamesg & @whisperscabaret
Are there ways to get free tickets to future shows?
The only way to receive any free tickets for Whisper’s Cabaret is by winning an audience contest at a live show.
Who films your videos at your cabaret?
Most of my videos are filmed by New Jersey based photographer/videographer The Black Gazelle. New York based videographer DOK also films some videos from my cabaret. You’ll see their logos in the videos that they’re responsible for. I highly recommend booking both of these awesome guys, btw!
Who takes the photos from shows that are featured on the site?
Photos from cabaret shows are usually done by Philly based photographer Jay Outhier. I also have The Black Gazelle providing outstanding photos from both shoots and live shows
How many people are on your team?
Currently, I (Whisper) do everything myself. I created and manage every minute detail of this website, I design all of the promo and marketing materials, I run the social media, I handle show booking and all logistics, I edit the videos, I host the show, I perform, etc.
Are you ever looking to hire anyone for any roles with the show like hosting, behind the scenes help, etc?
Typically, I’m not looking to bring anyone on, but if I am, I typically only work with those who I already know well enough or those who can be vetted by trustworthy sources.
Is photography allowed at shows?
Yes, non-flash photography is okay unless otherwise stated before a performance. If there is an announcement that no phones are allowed out, you must put your phone away and may not remove it until given the okay. Failure to follow these rules will result in immediate removal from the venue and you won’t be permitted to attend any future Whisper’s Cabaret shows.
Are we allowed to touch performers?
Direct and explicit verbal consent is required for you to interact with any performers at the cabaret, or anyone in general – no exceptions. If you touch a performer, or anyone else, without their explicit consent, security will remove you from the venue immediately, you will not receive a refund, and you won’t be permitted to any future shows.
Do you accept inquiries for sponsors or collaborations?
I am currently seeking strategic partners for our upcoming shows to enhance the performer and guest experience through the following sponsorship categories:
Spirit & Beverage Sponsors, Culinary & Food Partners, Apparel & Wardrobe Sponsors
I can be reached directly at bookingjamesg@gmail.com
